We Drink. We Laugh. We’re Cheap: M and C and a Really Good Idea if We Do Say So

M: I had been told the night before, “I think you need to get out more.” Not as brutal as it was true.  So when a “co-worker” invited me to a meeting of young professionals, I decided to go - on the off chance that I might enjoy myself. I did enjoy the meeting, but that’s not really relevant here. The relevant part is that I invited C to come with me. I believe in the buddy system when it comes to doing new things and she made the comment, “I need to do new things”. That’s damn near destiny.  While at the after meeting gathering at a nearby restaurant, we both became quite hurt when we overheard the waitress informing others in our party that the drink special that night was Margaritas. We had already invested in a pricey beer and even pricier wine by the glass, having not been informed of our cheaper options. Instead of plotting our revenge on any of the staff or calling our congressmen, I suggested we just order one and split it. And while listening to a co-meeting goer talk about his food blog and licking the salt off my lips*, it hit me. “We should do our own blog! We should call it……two girls and a drink!! We’ll do this every week and write about it. Have whatever the drink special is, split it, and review it. It’ll be great. And with that name we’re bound to get hits!” After one of her infamous laughs, C agreed and added, “You know, after they see the name, everybody’s going to be asking ‘Where the pictures?’”

C:I too thought it would be nice to get away. But I really didn’t know what I was getting myself into….but I went. As far as the blog, I just said  OK! Sounds great. But I was P’d off about that drink. I’m like “What made her (waitress) think I didn’t want a ½ price Margarita???” I guess she didn’t realize I LOVE Margaritas! But I figured it out: guys get the special treatment as usual….our “co-worker” did that is. So we just eavesdropped on his conversation with the server. It paid off because the Margarita wasn’t bad…for half price. Still pissed about that waitress....

That’s it: 2 girls, 1 drink. Two sides to the same story, because you can never really trust one person's opinion on a topic so important. Sorry, if you were expecting some adult content (in the traditional sense) but this blog will be about the other things that the young singles like to do: Drink and try not to spend all their money doing it.

*M was the one licking the salt off of her own lips, the food blog guy had nothing to do with that. We told you, it's not that kind of thing here!
